Overall Background Concept (Black Background):
The works consistently feature a black background, symbolizing "death," which is ever-present and omnipresent in our world. Within this space, a colorful world is depicted, representing the existence of "life."
As a medium connecting these two polar worlds—"life and death"—a "young girl" character is placed in the works, acting as a bridge between the two.
Concept:
This piece takes blooming cherry blossoms as its theme, presenting both the "beauty" and the "awe" inherent in nature.
The cherry blossoms filling the canvas all face the viewer, exhibiting the soft beauty of spring while subtly exuding an overwhelming sense of pressure and reverence.
The girl in the center is painted in colors similar to the cherry blossoms, making her appear as if she has become part of nature at first glance. However, she remains fundamentally human and unable to truly merge with nature, thus presenting a sense of "otherness." Amidst the full bloom of the cherry blossoms, she carries a feeling of unease, as if she is about to be swallowed by them.
The blue background represents the clear spring sky, intensifying the moment of the cherry blossoms' full bloom, while the small leaves and patterns around them hint at a nature beyond the blossoms, showcasing the extension of life.
Through contrast, this work presents the "otherness" of humans who exist within nature yet cannot truly integrate into it, as well as the intrinsic coexistence of "beauty and awe" in nature.
