Picnic Time

Picnic Time｜Picnic

Overall Background Concept (Black Background):

The consistent use of a black background in the work symbolizes "death," which is ever-present and omnipresent in our world. Within this space, a colorful world is depicted, representing the existence of "life."

Serving as a medium to connect these two polar worlds—"life and death"—the character of a "young girl" is placed within the work, acting as a bridge between the two.

Concept:

This piece, "Picnic," interweaves the calm, peaceful moments of daily life with the rhythms inherent in nature.

The checkered pattern in the background is inspired by a picnic mat spread out for a picnic, while the blue flowers covering it symbolize both petals scattered across the fabric and the image of a vast field in full bloom.

The consecutively arranged flowers in the composition are not merely decorative; they symbolize both "order" and "change" as they exist in nature. Much like plants swaying in the wind or the cycle of the four seasons, while not identical, they continue to extend.

Through the intimate and everyday scene of a "picnic," layered with the vastness and circular nature of the natural world, the work presents a sense of depth and space within its calm atmosphere.
