"Between the Frames: Fragment of Torso" is an expansive painting series that begins with the torso imagery found in classical sculpture. Through a process of fragmentation and reconfiguration, the works translate this subject matter using visual lexicons derived from animation, subcultures, and digital imagery. The works conceive of the body not as a complete and unified form, but as a state capable of being disassembled and reconstructed, further exploring how this "divisibility" exists not only within the imagery itself but extends to the physical structure of the canvas.

Through the cutting and arrangement of irregular canvases, this series constructs a structural format reminiscent of comic book panels and digital image layering. This allows the painting to transcend the constraints of a single perspective or fixed time and space, instead presenting a juxtaposition of multiple temporalities and spatialities. The pictorial plane thus becomes a fluid system rather than a closed act of representation.

In this context, the torso is no longer viewed as a fragmented or incomplete body, but rather as an open state that allows for the generation of new perceptions and interpretations. The body parts distributed across the various canvases form a critical state between continuity and rupture; the gaps between the canvases simultaneously signify the absence of the body and serve as a site for viewing, guiding the viewer to actively participate in the reconstruction of the image through the movement and synthesis of their gaze.

This structure corresponds to the "gutter" in comics and the multi-layered interfaces of digital images, allowing classical figurative art to be re-perceived and repositioned within contemporary visual culture.
