——Breathing Contours——
Contours always have a breath of their own. Between self and other, inside and outside, reality and memory—the boundaries that separate us constantly give birth to new contours amidst a quiet flickering.
The works take the "face" as their theme to depict this flowing boundary—the Fluid Edge. The face is an entrance to perceiving the world, as well as a window reflecting inner emotions and thoughts. For this reason, the artist infuses the concrete image of the face with ambiguity, change, and the essence of existence.
The "negative space" that emerges in these works harbors a silent tension. This negative space welcomes the viewer's memories and emotions, leading each individual to a unique experience from the same piece. Supporting these spaces are delicate and precise artistic techniques that remain subtly beneath the surface.
Form and space, stillness and motion, self and other. What the artist depicts is the very thing that emerges from these relationships: a resilient and beautiful boundary.
Fluid Edge is an exploration of the contours that breathe quietly within a constantly changing world.
